Joe Adams
Joe Adams brings more than five decades of fire service experience and leadership to the table. Beginning his journey through family tradition, Joe has dedicated 53 years to the Cresson Fire Company, rising through the ranks from firefighter to Fire Chief and currently serving as Deputy Chief with the Cresson Fire Company as part of Keystone Regional Fire & Rescue. He also serves as a suppression instructor with the Pennsylvania Fire Academy, where his passion for training and mentoring the next generation of firefighters continues to shape the future of the profession.
Outside of the fire service, Joe retired after a distinguished 45-year career as a Safety and Environmental Director and Loss Control Consultant. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous awards, certifications, and leadership roles, all rooted in one mission: making the fire service safer and stronger for those who answer the call.
Joe is deeply passionate about providing new firefighters with the foundation they need to succeed and ensuring that every firefighter has the knowledge and support to return home safely. Having experienced both the triumphs and tragedies of leadership, including the loss of three firefighters under his command as Fire Chief, he brings a level of honesty, humility, and perspective that can only come from a lifetime of service.
Above all else, Joe considers his greatest accomplishments to be becoming a father and later a grandfather. When he’s not teaching or serving his community, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, reading, and traveling with his wife. His belief that “once the fire service gets in your blood, she never lets you go” perfectly captures the dedication and heart he continues to bring to the job he loves.
